- Dr. Gonzalez Cuyar's research focuses on Neuropathologic changes associated with exposure to heavy metals such as manganese and gadolinium.
- We are part of a multi-center collaboration between University of Washington, Washington University in St. Louis, University of the Witwatersrand, and the National Institute for Occupational Health of the Republic of South Africa.
- Our funded work revolves around the neuropathological characterization of the early changes associated with chronic low-level Mn exposure in the world’s largest occupational exposure autopsy program.
